The Winners ot the XIII «Giorgio Rota» Best Paper Award on Economic Perspective on Art, Culture, and Heritage are:

Francesco Ferlenga, Serra Hunter Assistant Professor, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Department of Economics and Economic HistorySymbols of Oppression: The Role of Confederate Monuments in the Great Migration

Caterina Adelaide Mauri, BRISPO, Interface demography, Vrije Universiteit BrusselRadio Killed the Dancehall Star

The Conference for the presentation of the winning papers was hled in Turin on November 10th, 2025; keynote address by Professor Karol Jan Borowiecki - University of Southern Denmark.

The Giorgio Rota Best Paper Award is a project of Centro Einaudi with support from Fondazione CRT, in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Statistics “Cognetti De Martiis” (ESt, University of Turin) and the Department of Economics, Social Studies, Applied Mathematics and Statistics (ESOMAS, University of Turin), and with the endorsement of the UNESCO Chair in Economics of Culture and Heritage.

The winners of the XII «Giorgio Rota» Best Paper Award on "Climate Economics and (its) Knowledge", supported by Fondazione CRT, are:

Lorenzo Sileci wins a prize of 2,500 Euros (gross) with the paper Carbon Pricing with Regressive Co-benefits: Evidence from British Columbia’s Carbon Tax

Alessandra Testa and Konstantin Boss win a prize of 2,000 Euros (gross) with the paper What goes around, comes around: the US climate-economic cycle

Costanza Tomaselli wins a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper Green or Greed? Unveiling the Environmental Impact of Market Consolidation on Carbon Emissions

The XII «Giorgio Rota» Conference for the presentation of the winning papers was held in Turin on May 15, 2024, at Campus Luigi Einaudi, as one of the events leading up to the International Festival of Economics.

The winners of the XI «Giorgio Rota» Best Paper Award on "Urban economies as complex systems", supported by Fondazione CRT, have been appointed. They are:

Lea Bou Sleiman, who wins a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper Displacing Congestion: Evidence from Paris

Ilaria Malisan and Luca Favero, who win a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper The effect of being a European Capital of Culture: Evidence from Matera

Giacomo Rosso, who wins a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper Local Economy Housing Prices and Neighborhood Change

The Giorgio Rota Conference 2023 was held in Turin, at the Campus Luigi Einaudi, on Tuesday May 30, 2023. [Program].

10th Giorgio Rota Best Paper Award

The winners of the 10th «Giorgio Rota» Best Paper Award on "Labor, value, robots ", supported by Fondazione CRT, have been appointed. They are:

Eleonora Priori, who win a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper Simulating a basic income to cope with the technological transition: an agent-based model.

Ana Sofia Pessoa, who wins a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper Earnings Dynamics in Germany.

Filippo Passerini, who wins a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper Monopsony in Labor Markets: Empirical Evidence from Italian Firm.

They will present their works at the Giorgio Rota Conference in Turin, Campus 'Luigi Einaudi', on May, 18th.

9th Giorgio Rota Best Paper Award / The winners

The winners of the 9th «Giorgio Rota» Best Paper Award on Main economic tendencies in the contemporary world economy  have been appointed. They are:

- Pietro Bomprezzi and Filippo Passerini who win a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper Directionality of spillovers in Europe: Evidence from the EU sovereign debt Crisis

- Luca Sandrini who wins a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper Direct and indirect effects of competition on privates incentives to R&D and licensing

- Martina Aronica, Caterina Sciortino and Pietro Pizzuto who win a prize of 1,500 Euros (gross) with the paper  Covid-19 and tourism: what can we learn from the past?

The winners will present their work at the Giorgio Rota Conference that will be held in May. Schedule of the conference will be published on the Centro Einaudi website soon.

Participation to the conference is mandatory in order to be awarded the prize.

The award-winning papers will be published by the Centro Einaudi in an ISBN e-book "Quaderni del Premio Giorgio Rota".
